He has advised large companies and cultural institutions on security and IT issues.
His childhood in the lonely Eifel had a great influence on him. He worked intensively on painting and won a national prize even then.
On several journeys through France and contact with the local art scene, his dreams of art and especially painting have taken shape.
Since 2009 he has attended, among other things, summer academies of the associate professor Imke Lohmann.
His art addresses political issues while questioning the media and the media public. With a sense of humour, meticulous research, he takes up everyday scenarios such as heroes, lies, hopes, fears and combines these parts into new puzzles “What should we think, what do we think and what is true in the 20th and 21st centuries…?”. The answers are provocative. In his early abstract and relief works, any interpretation is possible.
Erwin Berg is also a collector and art dealer of international works of art such as Kurt Schwitters, Robert Motherwell, Francis Picabia and current generations of artists.
